Too often I hear people complaining about the community of world of warcraft being toxic. The toxic behaviors occur in many forms and the one we are discussing today is elitism. Did elitism lead to the current community we have or have we always been like this? I share my experience briefly from The Burning Crusade to now and from my recollection there has always been a sense of standards. The idea of class stacking were used as early as TBC from my personal experience and I know in today's world of warcraft classic Warriors are being stacked in every situation. Players not being invited more often than not isn't personal. Playing certain builds that are the current meta has been around since the earliest days of wow. Maybe not to this degree because information was scarce. But, wherever shortcuts are able to be applied they will be.
